The SIGCSE Doctoral Consortium is held in conjunction with the SIGCSE Technical Symposium. It is designed for Ph.D. students in computing-related areas who are planning a career in academia.

The ACM Student Research Competition (sponsored by Microsoft Research) represents a unique forum for ACM student members at both the undergraduate and graduate level to present their original research before a panel of judges as well as before conference attendees.
